About Us

Professional dog walkers and behaviour-focused trainers delivering structured exercise and tailored training. Our work centres on calm leadership, fulfilment and long-term results — not quick fixes.

Rachael – Owner/Trainer

I have always had a strong passion for animals and completed a Diploma in Equine Studies at Merrist Wood College. I gained extensive experience working on a variety of equestrian yards and achieved several qualifications within the equine industry before moving into a corporate career. Following redundancy, I chose to pursue my true passion and began working with dogs full-time as a dog walker in 2013.

After rescuing my first Romanian street dog, I travelled to Romania and personally rescued 28 dogs. This led to the start up of Dogs Walk This Way Rescue in 2014. Over the past 12 years, with the support of a dedicated team and more than 50 volunteers, the rescue has grown significantly and successfully rehomed over 3,000 dogs worldwide. In recent years, our focus has been primarily within the UK.

I have extensive hands-on experience with complex behavioural cases across all breeds and sizes, and have personally fostered over 500 dogs. My work has included visiting Romania to remove dogs from kill shelters and supporting frontline rescue organisations, as well as rehoming dogs from Bahrain and Morocco.

Alongside practical experience, I have continually developed my knowledge through courses and workshops, including IMDT programmes and the most recent being the PHXK9 mentorship. I support owners with both foundational training and behavioural challenges such as reactivity, resource guarding, aggression and separation anxiety. Having rehomed a large number of foreign rescue dogs, I have particular expertise in their rehabilitation and integration.

As a single parent to my daughter, I also have practical experience introducing dogs safely into family homes with children. I am passionate about helping owners build stronger relationships with their dogs and improving their confidence and skills.

My dogs -

Chaz – 12 years old ex street dog who’s a great stooge dog. Loves his walks and cuddles

Elsa – 10 year old 3 legged ex street dog. Loves her buggy and coming on walks, loves her food and is such a calm neutral dog who is the best stooge dog!

Angel – 6 year old, one eyed ex street dog, loves people and likes to please.

Lianne - Walker/Trainer

I’ve grown up with dogs all my life, mostly mixed breeds who naturally became part of the family. My first dog of my own was Cacey, a Collie-cross Lurcher, whom I trained in the foundations of heelwork, recall, sit and down.

Wanting to better understand canine behaviour, I completed a range of training courses including the Victoria Stilwell Academy, a 3-Day Dog Behaviour Conference and the Phoenix K9 Mentorship Programme most recently.

I joined Dogs Walk This Way Rescue as a volunteer, working hands-on in kennels caring for and walking dogs, before fostering multiple dogs and becoming part of the homing team — a role I have held for over eight years.

I now work professionally in dog walking and training, helping dogs of all breeds and temperaments. I also share my home with two rescue dogs adopted through the organisation.

My dogs -

Holly - 8 Years, rescued from a kill shelter in Romania. When I first saw her you couldn’t touch or get near her, she was nervous of humans, but she is a foodie and eventually came out of her shell. She has good recall and is a much more confident dog.

Teddy - 7 Years, a failed fosterer with Teddy, he was found in London tied to a post and picked up by the dog warden during lock down. He is a mummy’s boy, loves chasing the ball and having cuddles and a great stooge dog.

Rachel walks my dog Vinnie several times a week, and they’re definitely his favourite days. It’s clear that this isn’t just a job for her, she genuinely cares and is incredibly passionate about what she does. You can really see how happy she makes the dogs she works with. I’d highly recommend her services to anyone looking for a reliable and caring dog walker or trainer.

Rachael has been walking our Dalmatian for the past year and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. Our dog is a rescue who previously grew up on a farm surrounded by other dogs, so when she came to live with us as an only dog, we were keen for her to continue enjoying that social environment. Although we both work from home and have time to walk her ourselves, we wanted her to benefit from socialising with other dogs, exploring new places, and enjoying pack walks — and Rachael has provided exactly that.

Our dog absolutely adores Rachael and gets incredibly excited every time she arrives, which says it all. From day one, Rachael’s professionalism, experience, and depth of knowledge stood out far above other dog walkers. This has given us complete peace of mind and confidence that our pup is in the very best hands.

Rachael is trustworthy, reliable, and consistently goes above and beyond. Her experience shines through in everything she does, and it’s clear she cares for our dog as if she were her own. We are so grateful to have found her and would wholeheartedly recommend Rachael to anyone looking for exceptional dog walking or dog training services.

Rachel has walked Dotty our American Bulldog for over 2 years.

The positive change in Dotty is amazing, she is so much better behaved by herself and around other people and dogs.

Rachel loves the dogs and treats them as if they were hers. Our dog has totally transformed since she has been walked/trained by Rachael. She is a miracle worker!! Our dog loves her as much as we do. We would not hesitate to recommend her - Rachael you’re amazing.

Rachael is so great with my dogs- both have a few issues and she treats them both with love and patience. Rachael sends me loads of pictures and video updates and both dogs always seem to be having a great time on the walks with their pack friends! Rachael is very conscientious, safety and welfare always come first. She tries to accommodate any last minute requests when she can- which is appreciated when I have various work demands and need extra walks. The dogs absolutely love her and I can’t recommend her services enough.

Rachael has been walking Lola for the past six years, and we truly couldn’t ask for a better dog walker. Her dedication, reliability, and genuine love for what she does have made such a difference in Lola’s life. Over the years, Rachael has also done a tremendous amount of training with her, teaching good manners, great walking habits and a perfect recall.

Last year, Harold joined the walks, Rachael welcomed him seamlessly into the routine. She’s been fantastic at balancing both dogs’ needs while making sure they each get the attention and care. We are so lucky to have someone so experienced and committed to looking after them.

Rex has been walking twice a week with Rachael since we rescued him back in Feb 2023. Rachael helped us initially with 121’s as he was extremely nervous of people and reactive towards some dogs. She is an absolute legend and the progress in Rex is amazing. She keeps us updated and we love getting pictures from her about what he has been up too. Her understanding of dogs is out of this world, their welfare always come first and she also regularly supports us if we have any questions about Rex.

During this time, he has gained so much confidence which he wouldn't have without her.
